Film Review: The Courier

A very enjoyable, if dark, film with a great performance from Benedict Cumberbatch. Give this a watch, it’s worth it. A dark but entertaining 8.0/10.0

Film Review: Red Notice

Great fun, excellent cast, well paced. It would have been an absolute tragedy if the writer and director messed up this film given the cast, but thankfully they did not. Give it a watch, you’ll be glad you did. Am enjoyable romp worthy of an 8.5/10.0

Film Review: Fitch

Tom Hanks excels again in this bittersweet end-of-the-world story. This film tugs at the heartstrings, some might say in a saccarine way, but I enjoyed it a lot. An easy 8.0/10.0

Film Review: Dune

A terrific film, a fantastic example of the cinematographer’s art. It’s hard to nit-pick, and that says a lot. My only criticism is that it had to end, and the sequel is a long way off. An amazing 9.5/10.0

Film Review: No Time To Die

Ah, so many emotions here. Daniel Craig’s last outing as Bond. He was such a pleasant surprise when he first picked up the role, I had no idea at all how good he would be. This is another corker, one of the best Bond films I’ve ever seen. And the ending… Where they go next, I can’t imagine. Let’s hope...

Film Review: Papillon

Well written and paced, great performances from Charlie Hunnan and the always excellent Rami Malek. There is some debate about the truth of this story (it was originally penned as a true story, but doubt has been cast on it in subsequent years), but that doesn’t impact the film at all. It’s understandably bleak, but I enjoyed this film. A...

Film Review: Operation Finale

A dark film about dark people in a very dark time. It would be wrong somehow to say it was enjoyable, but it was well made and well acted. Ben Kingsley was chilling, and Oscar Isaac was excellent too. A moving 8.0/10.0
